MOVING PICTURES BRINGS 23 HD FILMS, 100-PLUS HD TV HOURS TO MIPCOM
Adding To The Lineup, Moving Pictures Launches Own New Magazine Series "The Moving Pictures Show" (Los Angeles, CA) September 30th, 2009 - Prepared to meet the demands of the fast-accelerating world of HD television, Moving Pictures Film & TV announces a roster of 23 feature films and more than 100 hours of television series and specials in the 1080-format that will be introduced to buyers at MIPCOM 2009 (October 5-9, 2009, Cannes, France). Adding to the lineup is Moving Pictures' own new magazine series, "The Moving Pictures Show" (13X30'), which will debut at MIPCOM. The new HD TV content is a result of Moving Pictures' recently-announced acquisition of the Bennett Media Worldwide operation on September 1. The TV programming, originally shot in HD, includes the new season of "Bikini Destinations" (45 x 30'), generally positioned at the head of its genre class in worldwide popularity; "The Wild Side" (14 x 30'); "Destination X" (26 x 30'); and "DNA of Sport" (13 x 30'). The HD film side includes, from the recently-announced acquisition of Victory Films' classic library, "Zulu Dawn" (Burt Lancaster, Peter O'Toole), "Ashanti" (Michael Caine, Omar Sharif), and a dozen horror and action films -- all of which have been upconverted to HD 1080p24. Among those from Moving Pictures' catalog are "Being Michael Madsen" (mocumentary starring Michael Madsen, Virginia Madsen, Darryl Hannah) and "Mattie Fresno and The Holoflux Universe" (Carol Alt, Orson Bean). "With our arsenal of HD film and TV content and our launch of 'The Moving Pictures Show' we're demonstrating our successful evolution into a world-class media company," said Margaret Tritch, president. For audiences that love movies, there is now a show, Executive Produced by Fabio Golombek that shares their passion. "The Moving Picture Show", produced/directed by Brooks Parsons Jr., examines the big themes that audiences love to talk about and offers in-depth exclusive interviews with actors and directors as well as special effects artists, stunt coordinators, stylists and costume designers with stories that go beyond the usual fluff and let audiences know what's really going on behind the scenes. "The Moving Pictures Show" is for people who love movies and want to know more about the things that make movies cool. As the founder and senior producer of F.J.Productions since 2002, Golombek has been responsible for a number of domestic and internationally distributed TV programs such as "Red Carpet Reporter" (NBC International, Fox International), "The Hollywood Reporter TV" (Starz, HBO Latin and syndication), "Shop the World" (ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and syndicated worldwide), "Zen Zone" (syndicated - Telly Award), "Shape UP" (FOX SPORTS and worldwide) and the award-winning "Planeta Brasil" (airing on TV Globo International since 2003). Brooks Parsons Jr. produced and directed The Hollywood Reporter on the Starz Network, and wrote the award winning documentary "1955: Seven Days In Fall" which aired on nationally PBS. Prior to producing entertainment programming, Mr. Parsons worked in sports and was the producer of the Emmy winning series "The Howard Schnellenberger Show". The first pilot of "The Moving Pictures Show" will include stories with Michael Moore and the new Woody Harrelson movie, "Defendor," and will debut at MIPCOM.
